Forte Media LLC ("Forte Media," "we," "us," or "our") operates fortemia.com and a portfolio of travel-related editorial properties. We believe in being upfront about how we earn money, and this page exists so that anyone using our trip-planning service knows exactly how we get paid.

1. The short version

We don't charge you for trip plans. When you click a booking link in a plan we send you — or in any guide we publish — and you book something, we may receive a referral commission from the booking platform. The price you pay is exactly the same as if you had gone to that platform directly.

Our partner list may change. We only recommend platforms we have a working relationship with and would use ourselves.

3. How we choose what to recommend

Editorial independence is non-negotiable. Our team selects hotels, activities, and providers based on what fits your trip — not on which partner pays the highest commission rate. We routinely include recommendations for which we earn no commission (independent local guides, individual restaurants, free attractions) when those are the right pick.

If two options are roughly equal and one of them happens to be a partner, we will tend to send you there — because that's how we keep the service free. We do not present a worse option as the better one to earn money.

4. FTC compliance

This disclosure is provided in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR Part 255 (Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising) and the 2023 updates to those guides. We disclose affiliate relationships clearly and conspicuously: in plain language on this page, in a notice on our homepage near our partner logos, and on every published guide that contains affiliate links.

5. What you should know about prices

Travel pricing is dynamic. The fact that we link to a partner has no effect on the price they show you. Prices, availability, and policies are set by the booking platform, not by Forte Media. We are not a travel agent, we do not hold reservations, and we cannot guarantee any specific rate.

6. Your relationship with the booking platform

When you book through one of our links, you are entering into an agreement with that platform — not with Forte Media. Cancellation policies, refunds, customer support, and any disputes are governed by their terms. We can sometimes help you escalate, but we are not a party to the transaction.
